"The Evolution of K-Drama Romances"

Ji-yoon An, an assistant professor of modern Korean popular culture at the University of British Columbia, will speak on the evolving nature of K-drama romances, with attention to how "classic" tropes are altering to suit the post-feminist generation. An has a doctorate in East Asian Studies from the University of Cambridge. Chairperson and professor Tara MacDonald of UI's English Department will serve as moderator. The talk is in the Clearwater Room in ISUB.
