"The Time to Live and the Time to Die"

Renowned director Hou Hsiao-hsien's semi-autobiographical take on growing up in Taiwan in the aftermath of the Chinese Civil War. As older members of the family long to return to their home in the mainland, for the young people, Taiwan is now home. This free screening is the third in the spring 2023 edition of the University of Idaho Asian Film Series, co-sponsored by the Idaho Asia Institute, School of Global Studies and School of Journalism and Mass Media.
