Now that the sun has returned to our side of the planet, people are planning out summer weekends filled with friends, food and fun and, maybe, a little bit of music.
If that sounds like your kind of summer, here’s a list of 2018 music fests to pencil in on your calendar.
June 8
Red, White & Brewfest
Lewiston
The rock bands Wayland and Royal Bliss will play at the Red, White & Brewfest from 5 to 9 p.m. June 8 at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds. The festival is for ages 21 and older and features craft and domestic beers, regional wine and food. Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 at the gate. (lewistonbrewfest.com)
June 30
The Barge In Fest
Lewiston-Clarkston Valley
The Barge In Fest, Inland 360’s free music festival, returns June 30 with indie and punk rock bands on three stages. This year’s headliners are Curtis/Sutton & the Scavengers, Runaway Symphony, Tons & Tons, Folkslinger, Jezebel's Mother, Janis Carper, Hannah Cornforth, Andru Gomez and Brian Baugh. They’ll play from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Dock Concert Stage at the Lewiston Tribune. Craft cocktails will be back, along with food and arts and crafts vendors. Find more bands and a skateboarding competition at the Smash the Skate Stage at Mtn. Dew Skatepark in Lewiston. An after-hours jam finishes the night off at Hogan’s Pub in Clarkston.
July 19-21
Rendezvous in the Park
Moscow
From Portland’s energetic Dirty Revival playing Thursday night, to Nashville’s “most woke band,” Waker, taking the stage Saturday, Rendezvous in the Park will showcase an eclectic array of up-and-coming musicians July 19-21 outdoors at East City Park.
Each night features three acts, with local groups opening each show. On July 19, Tone Sober and Del Valle open for Dirty Revival. July 20 find Moscow Mules, Rust on the Rails and Bob Schneider. July 21 is Will Fontaine & the Vital Signs, Massy Ferguson and Waker. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. with music at 5:30. Tickets are $15 to $25 each night. (rendezvousinthepark.com)
July 28
Rockin’ on the River
Clarkston
Everclear and Eve 6 will headline Rockin' on the River July 28 in Clarkston. Everclear also headlined the outdoor concert in 2007. The event is at Dave's Valley Golf Center in Clarkston and all proceeds go to charity. Ticket information and more details are available online. (rockinontheriver.org)
July 28
Palouse Music Festival
Palouse
Local music is the main attraction at the day-long Palouse Music Festival July 28 at Palouse City Park. Musicians include Matt Zook and John Elwood, Diamond Joe, Eric Jessup, Arman Bohn, Bart Budwig & Friends, Jessie James, and the Senders. There will also be arts and crafts, nonprofit groups and food vendors. Music is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Admission is $10 at the gate, $5 for kids ages 6 to 16.
Aug. 4
Riverbank Music Festival
Orofino
Country music icon Craig Morgan headlines a night of five bands playing on the banks of the Clearwater River. Morgan’s hits include, “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Bonfire” and “Redneck Yacht Club.” Music starts at 3 p.m. at Orofino City Park with Morgan playing at 8. Other acts are Vintage Youth, the Hereafters, Aaron Crawford, and the Olson Brothers. Tickets are $45 in advance or $55 at the gate. (orofinoriverbankmusicfestival.com)
Aug. 23-25
Hot August Nights
Lewiston
Lewiston’s Hot August Nights concert will return to Boomers’ Garden Aug. 25, joining the festival’s annual car show. Artists have yet to be announced. (lewistonhan.com)
