Adelitas Way Takes Stage at Boomtown Saturday in Lewiston

The hard rock band out of Las Vegas, Adelitas Way, is performing Saturday at the recently reopened Boomtown American Saloon.

The band broke into the mainstream in 2009 with their song “Invincible,” which has since been used in television spots and as the theme song for the World Wrestling Entertainment Superstars show. The band is comprised of Rick DeJesus (lead vocals), Trevor Stafford (drums), Robert Zakaryan (guitar, backing vocals) and Andrew Cushing (bass, backing vocals).

We checked in via email with DeJesus to find out a bit more about the band:

360: How would you describe Adelitas Way to those who haven’t heard of you?

DeJesus: We like to try to write great songs and we have many different approaches to that. Our live show is one of our strong points as well. I would say if someone were to listen to our catalog we have lots of great inspiring songs.

360: What are some of the influences in your music – musical, cultural or otherwise?

DeJesus: Life always inspires and each band member blends their musical influences into our sound.

360: Tell us about some of the songs that are resonating most with either you or your fans right now.

DeJesus: Some of the fan favorites are “Alive,” “Somebody Wishes They Were You,” “Criticize,” “Bad Reputation,” and “Sick.”

360: You released an album earlier this year, “Getaway” -- what has response been to the album and how has it evolved musically from past albums?

DeJesus: It's been a great reaction, we are blessed with amazing fans. We just try to have fun and make exciting music, sometimes our approach is simple and sometimes it takes lots of time and attention. It's always fun.

360: What do you love most about your work?

DeJesus: We love the whole journey, creating in the studio, all the way to traveling and rocking live shows nightly.

360: Being a rock band sounds glamorous – is it?

DeJesus: It's very challenging, lots of driving, you have to be prepared for a nomadic lifestyle, eat when you can. Once you arrive at the venue, it's all about getting prepared for the show to be great. Then you do it all over again.
