The sun has finally pierced the gray clouds of the Palouse and the temperature has begun to rise, which means its time for Washington State Universitys Springfest.
Put on by WSUs Student Entertainment Board, the annual event endeavors to brings big names to the small town to celebrate the end of the school year.
This years fest will kick off at 8 p.m. Friday in Beasley Coliseum with actor, writer and comedian Jimmy Tatro, who is also the creator and star of his YouTube channel, LifeAccordingToJimmy, which has 2.31 million subscribers and 247.2 million views.
The Springfest headliner is 2Chainz, who is scheduled to take the stage at 8 p.m. Saturday in Beasley Coliseum.
The hip-hop sensation from Georgia was nominated for multiple Grammys in 2013 and 2014 and also received a World Music Award in 2014 for best song, live act and entertainer of the year. His second album, B.O.A.T.S. II: Me Time, was released in 2013, debuted at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and sold 63,000 copies in its first week.
To cap the weekend, students, faculty and community members can attend a screening of The Wedding Ringer at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Compton Union Building Auditorium on the WSU campus. The comedy stars Kevin Hart, Josh Gad and Kaley-Cuoco Sweeting.
