PULLMAN — An exhibition titled “Curators’ Choices: The Greg Kucera & Larry Yocom Collection” will open Jan. 14 at the Washington State University Museum of Art here.
A reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 21 in the gallery with a free 20-30 minute walk-through given by the collectors.
Seattle resident Greg Kucera and his husband, Larry Yocom, have built an extensive private art collection, according to a news release.
Kucera is a longtime Pacific Northwest gallerist. The Kucera/Yocom collection, assembled collaboratively over a 30-year span, focuses primarily on contemporary and historic art of the Northwest. This exhibit contains some adult images and themes.
The museum is along Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium in the Fine Arts Center. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 7 p.m. Thursday.
The exhibit will continue through March 25.

LEWISTON — The Senders, a classic rock and pop group, will play from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday at the Lewiston Elks, 3444 Country Club Drive.
Because the show is part of a membership drive, it is open to the public. Attendees must be 21 or older, and cost is $5 at the door. Food will be available for purchase.

LEWISTON — Tim Rushlow, former lead singer of Little Texas, will play a concert beginning at 8 p.m. Jan. 15 at Zone 208 here, 0301 Second St.
Rushlow’s tour is called “One Man, One Guitar, One Night,” and he aims to perform so “every audience member is in his living room for the night,” according to his website, www.timrushlow.com.
After Little Texas disbanded in 1998, Rushlow pursued a solo career and released a self-titled album in 2001. His single, “She Misses Him,” reached the country Top 5. He has also been part of a country duo with his cousin, Doni Harris, and he released a Christian pop record in 2009. Shortly after that, Rushlow began his current unplugged show.
The concert is for those 21 and older. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. They may be purchased at GNC Live Well in Lewiston and Les Schwab Tires along Main Street in Lewiston.
Jan. 17
OROFINO — Tayla Lynn, granddaughter of country music icon Loretta Lynn, will join Grammy Award-winner Eric Tingstad of Seattle for a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Orofino Junior/Senior High School.
The two will perform in a variety of musical genres, including country, rock, blues and Americana.
The concert is sponsored by the Clearwater Community Concert organization, starting its 40th year. Admission is $25. The school is at 300 Dunlap Road.
Jan. 19
PULLMAN — Cryptography is the topic of the next Science Pub from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 19 at Paradise Creek Brewery here.
Nathan Hamlin, director of the Washington State University Math Learning Center, will give his talk titled “Cryptography, Coding & Cyber Attacks.” His research interest is mainly number theory, according to a news release, and he has been working on developing an encryption method to guard against hacking of next-generation quantum computers.
Science Pub topics and presenters are scheduled by the Palouse Discovery Science Center in Pullman.
Hamlin will be available to answer questions from the audience after his presentation.
