LEWISTON — The Hog Heaven Big Band will perform at this week’s free Sound Downtown concert from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday outdoors in Brackenbury Square here.
The group performs swing music from the 1930s to the present.
The band, which features up to 18 musicians, is based in Moscow, and plays a variety of venues and events in the region. According to the band’s Facebook page, it was founded by Bill Roberts and has been performing for more than 35 years.
The square is at 605 Main St.

POTLATCH — The annual Scenic 6 Fiddle Show will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Potlatch High School.
Food vendors will begin sales at 5 p.m. and musicians planning to play are asked to sign in by 5:30 p.m. Each performer will play two tunes. Among the groups performing will include the Potlatch Junior Jammers, fiddlers younger than 18, led by Mabel Vogt of Potlatch. Vogt is an Idaho and Northwest regional champion fiddler, and she has been chairwoman of this annual event for 20 years.
Cost is $5 for adults and free for those age 17 and younger.
Proceeds from food sales will go to the Potlatch Presbyterian Lutheran Community Youth Group.
Seating is chair or bleacher, and attendees may bring lawn chairs.

PULLMAN — The Palouse Ridge Golf Club is the site for the annual Jess Ford of Pullman Hardhat Classic Golf Tournament Saturday to benefit Washington State University’s Facilities Services Scholarship Fund.
Check-in begins at 7 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8 a.m.
Cost is $135, which includes 18 holes, golf cart rental, hat, a small bucket of practice balls and a barbecue lunch provided by Banyan’s, the golf club restaurant.
Hole-in-one prizes include a new 2015 Ford F150 XLT Super Cab pickup truck. The putting contest winner will get to attempt a putt to win $10,000.

UNIONTOWN — “Medley in Wood,” featuring creations by 11 woodworkers from this region, is an exhibit that opens Sunday at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn here. Many of the artists will attend an opening reception from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
The exhibit will continue through Aug. 30 and feature many woodworking techniques in a variety of woods and wood mixed with metals, according to a news release. Functional items along with sculptural art pieces, furniture, turned bowls, vessels will be displayed (pictured above). Woodworkers displaying their work are Ben Carpenter, Stephanie Miller, Ed Krumpe, Ron Sack, Eric Stauber, Kristin LeVier, Jim Christiansen, Geoff Crimmins and Will Simpson, all of Moscow; Jerry Johnson of Kennewick; and Jim Swift of Richland. Christiansen coordinated this exhibit.
The barn is at 419 N. Park Way. The exhibit is free and hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday.
