Childhood Cancer Awareness 5k

Cat Harner
Over 70 people gathered to run, volunteer, and cheer on participants of the Moscow Parks and Recreation Childhood Cancer Awareness 5k, which benefitted the organization Alex's Lemonade Stand, whose mission is to provide funds to cure childhood cancer. Members of the Moscow Volunteer Fire Department and Latah Sheriff's Department sent off the runners in style, alongside childhood cancer warrior Ivy Risner. This 5k is also held in honor of Thomas Harner, who passed away from leukemia shortly after his second birthday. Date of 5k: Sept 30 Location: Moscow City Playfields
