We've reached the semifinal round in the Christmas Movie Madness bracket. A seventh seed has slipped into the final four and is looking to steal the title from a trio of favorites.
In a red-versus-green fight between seventh-seeded How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) and third-seeded Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, the Grinch stole the victory 86 to 70.
"Grinch" will face off against No. 1 seed Elf, in the semifinals. Elf dominated the jolly Frosty the Snowman winning 106 to 51, the largest margin of last weeks votes. When asked for a comment about his win, Buddy the Elf got so excited at the words Christmas and win he screamed and ran away from the phone, which was followed by a large crash.
On the other side of the bracket, the tightest race of the week was between second-seeded A Christmas Story and third-seeded A Charlie Brown Christmas, but Charlie Brown had the football taken away in the final seconds when A Christmas Story edged out a tight win, 80 to 77.
In the final quarterfinal matchup, Kevin McCallister might be able to take on would-be robbers, but he was no match for the positive spirit of George Bailey, as top-seeded Its a Wonderful Life beat out fourth-seeded Home Alone," 88 to 72.
Semifinal voting runs today through Tuesday morning. You can vote at inland360.com by clicking on the Christmas Movie Madness link at the top of the home page.
