CLARKSTON — Valley Art Center here is featuring artists Toby Sauer, oil painter, of Moscow, and ceramic artist Cynthia Crist of Green Bluff, Wash.

Compass Points: week of April 6-12
This oil painting by Toby Sauer of Moscow will be on exhibit at Clarkston's Valley Art Center during April.

There is an opening reception from 4 to 7 p.m. April 7 at the center, 842 Sixth St. Refreshments and light appetizers will be served.

The show will continue through the month of April. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

PULLMAN — A reception for the “Master of Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition” is 6 to 8 p.m. April 7 here. It will feature art work by Hayley Black, Andre Fortes, Laura Pregeant, Yuanwen Lin, Annie Cunningham and Stephen Cohen. The exhibit is at Washington State University Museum of Art along Wilson Road across from Martin Stadium.

LEWISTON — Music is on tap at the Third Wheel here featuring Bombshell Molly with Children of the Atom and Redheaded Stepchild at 9 p.m. April 7 at 1634 Main St.

Tickets are available at the Third Wheel, Sports Edition and Alibi for $8 in advance or $10 at the door.

April 8

LEWISTON — The Second Saturday Jazz at Lindsay Creek Vineyards here April 8 features Lewiston native Erik Bowen and his quartet.

Bowen will be joined with Pullman’s John Petrie on bass, fellow Moscow resident Joe Covill on drums, and Portland saxophonist Collin Wilson. There is no cost.

Lindsay Creek Vineyards is at 3107 Powers Ave.

MOSCOW — The “Blue Bayou” 37th annual Palouse Patchers Quilt Show here is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 8 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 9.

Admission is $5 regular price, $3 for ages 65 and older, and $3 for age 9 and younger. The event holds more than 200 quilts made by Moscow artisans.

There will be refreshments and raffles.

The show is at the Latah County Fairgrounds exhibition building, 1021 Harold St.
