Friday and Saturday

MOSCOW — If Christmas just isn’t Christmas for you until you’ve seen “The Nutcracker,” there’s one last chance to see the famed ballet this weekend.

“The Nutcracker” as performed by the Royal Ballet and filmed live in London, will be broadcast Friday and Saturday on the screen of the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre here.

The broadcast will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday at the center, 508 S. Main St. It runs approximately two hours, 15 minutes.

The traditional ballet is a mainstay of the Christmas holidays as the opening is set at a Victorian Christmas party. “With its festive period setting, dancing snowflakes and enchanting stage magic, Lev Ivanov’s 1892 ballet has become the perfect Christmas entertainment, with Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, sugar-spun music the most recognizable of all ballet scores,” according to the Royal Opera House’s website, roh.org.uk.

Admission is $10 regular price and $5 for ages 12 and younger.

Saturday
