LEWISTON — Popular Northwest band the Senders will play classic rock for dancing and listening at the Lewiston Elks Jan. 19 beginning at 7 p.m.
The Senders specialize in popular music from the 1950s, ’60s and ’70s that combines their love of surf music, the Beatles and classic rock, according to their Facebook page.
Band members are Hal Logan (vocals and drums), Jim Roberts (vocals and guitar), Jon Anderson (vocals, keyboard and guitar) and Mark Snodgrass (vocals, electric and upright bass). They are based in Moscow, Palouse and Portland.
A dinner of bite-size steak and shrimp will be served from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost for dinner is $16, and reservations may be made by calling the lodge office at (208) 743-5591.
Donations will be accepted at the door for those who do not want dinner, with proceeds going to maintenance of the lodge.

GREENCREEK — It’s time to get crackin’ because the annual Greencreek Crab Feed and Dance begins with a social hour at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 20 in the Greencreek Community Hall.
Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., and the menu features warm or cold crab, or barbecue tri-tip steak, along with side dishes.
The Senders will play live classic rock for the dance, which begins at 9 p.m. and continues until midnight.
Cost for the dinner and dance is $30, while admission to the dance only is $8. Tickets may be purchased in advance at B&A Performance in Greencreek, Cottonwood Credit Union, Advanced Welding in Grangeville and Hillco Technologies in Nezperce. Proceeds from the event will go toward maintenance of the community hall, 1062 Greencreek Road.

MOSCOW — Moscow Irish music band Potatohead will play for a community contra dance Jan. 20 at the 1912 Center here.
Free dance lessons for the folk dance begin at 7:30 p.m., and the dance will run from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Admission is $8 regular price, $6 for members of the Palouse Folklore Society and $5 for first-time dancers.
Potatohead includes John Watkinson on whistles, Lisa O’Leary on hammered dulcimer, Paul Smith on fiddle, and Dave Roon on flute and bouzouki,
The center is at 412 E. Third St., Moscow.
Jan. 20
PULLMAN — A Family Science Saturday event titled “Palouse Frankenstein 200” will feature interactive exhibits from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Palouse Discover Science Center here.
The Frankenstein stations planned for the event are inspired by the themes raised in Mary Shelley’s novel “Frankenstein,” which is approaching the 200th anniversary of its publication.
The event will feature the opportunity for visitors to make dough creatures, learn about electricity and the human body, and explore, learn and imagine playing a medical professional, according to a news release.
In addition, “EveryBODY Healthy,” a new interactive exhibit designed for children and families to explore wellness and the human body will be unveiled at the center during the same hours. This will be a permanent exhibit sponsored by Pullman Regional Hospital’s Center for Learning & Innovation.
Admission is $7.50 regular price, $6 for children and $6.50 for seniors. Admission is free for PDSC members. The center is at 950 N.E. Nelson Court.

PULLMAN — Equinox, Washington State University’s faculty brass quintet, will play a concert at 8 p.m. Jan. 23 in Bryan Hall Theatre on the WSU campus here.
Quintet members are David Turnbull and Noah Austin (trumpets); Martin King (horn); Chris Dickey (euphonium); and Sarah Miller (trombone). Admission is $10 regular price, $5 for seniors and non-WSU students, and free for WSU students.
Proceeds from ticket sales in the Faculty Artist Series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund.

LEWISTON — Sailesh the Hypnotist will bring his comedy hypnosis show to Lewis-Clark State College’s Silverthorne Theater at 8 p.m. Jan. 24. The free show is intended for audiences 18 years or older.
Sailesh was named 2017 Entertainer of the year by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities and 2016-17 Entertainer of the Year by Campus Activities Magazine, according to his website, saileshthehypnotist.com.
