There are a few things going on indoors, but as summer kicks into gear, look for more venues to be under the open sky. Enjoy it while you can.
July 5
The annual monthlong musical Jam’n in the Park kicks off from 6 to 8:30 p.m. July 5 at Craigmont City Park.
Additional dates for the jams are July 12, 19 and 26, all at the same time. The last date will be gospel night.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for seating.
July 6
“Despicable Me 3” will be screened beginning at dusk July 6 in Pullman’s Reaney Park.
The 2017 animated film is rated PG.
Activities for children begin at 6 p.m., and admission is free.
The park is at 690 Reaney Way.
July 6 and 8
“Hubblevision” is coming to a planetarium show near you at 7 p.m. July 6 and 5 p.m. July 8.
The show will be in the Washington State University Planetarium in Pullman, Room 231 of Sloan Hall.
The show will provide locations in the sky of some of the most recognizable Hubble Space Telescope images, reviews the history of the telescope and charts the science legacy of this robotic, orbital telescope, according to a news release.
Admission is $5 regular price (cash or check only) and free for ages 6 and younger.
July 7
Cherry Cherry, a Neil Diamond tribute band based in Atlanta, Ga., will take the stage beginning at 7:30 p.m. July 7 outdoors at Boomers’ Garden in Lewiston.
Steve Kelly is the lead singer for the band, now in its 21st year.
Doors open at 6 p.m. General admission is $10 in advance and $15 on the day of the show for this all-ages show, and attendees are asked to bring blankets and chairs for seating. Tickets for the deck are $20 and $25, and all advance tickets may be purchased at https://cherrycherry.brownpapertickets.com.
The band plans a drive to benefit the Idaho Food Bank in Lewiston, and donations of nonperishable food items will be accepted at the gate.
Food will be available for purchase, and the venue is at 0301 Second St.
July 7
Sam Pablo, Nez Perce tribal elder, will give a demonstration and talk from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7 at the Nez Perce National Historical Park visitor center in Spalding.
Pablo will demonstrate making traditional and modern fishing nets. He will have a variety of nets available to show and discuss, and also will answer questions.
The park visitor center is 12 miles east of Lewiston along U.S. Highway 95. Pablo also will be demonstrating netmaking at the same time July 21 at the park.
July 10
Trillium-239, an acoustic trio based in Richland, will give a presentation about songs of Northwest workers at 6:30 p.m. July 10 at Clarkston’s Basalt Cellars.
The band’s presentation is titled “Bandanas to Badges: Songs and Stories of Northwest Workers,” and will include “stories and songs of working life in the Northwest, beginning with American settlement of the West and ending with modern high-tech industries,” according to www.humanities.org.
Band members are Michelle Cameron on cello, Janet Humphrey on guitar, and Mary Hartman on guitar and banjo.

July 11
A Colfax photographer is showing his abstract works in an exhibit titled “Inner Landscapes” at the Center at Colfax Library.
Jim Trivelpiece will attend an open house and reception from 5 to 8 p.m. July 11 for the exhibit of his works which opened Monday. Refreshments will be served.
For this show, Trivelpiece snapped photos in unlikely places all around the Palouse and then explored, “what occurs when the lens is pointed back at the photographer,” according to a news release.
The exhibit continues through Aug. 31, and hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
The Center is at 102 S. Main St.
July 11
Guitarist and vocalist Brian Baugh will play during the lunchtime 2018 Summer Concert Series July 11 on the campus of Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
Baugh, who also performs under the moniker Beautiful Flaw, will play from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. outdoors on the campus Centennial Mall near the fountain.
The concert is free, and food will be available for purchase. LCSC is at 500 Eighth Ave.
July 11
The Community Band of the Palouse will kick off the summer’s Concerts in the Park July 11 beginning at 6 p.m. in Pullman’s Reaney Park.
Food by Porky’s Pit BBQ of Pullman will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The annual series is sponsored by Pullman Parks and Recreation, and the park is at 690 Reaney Way.
