Music, medals and more are in store for us all over the next week.
March 9
LEWISTON — Chris Taylor Brown, lead vocalist and guitarist of the rock band Trapt, will take the stage in an acoustic show at Lewiston’s Third Wheel March 9.
Appearing with Brown are Easyfriend, and Alex and Kevin Black of Lewiston’s Homewreckr.
Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for this stop on Brown’s tour, called “Acoustic Nights.”
The show is open to those 21 and older, and advance tickets are $15 and available at Sports Edition, Alibi, Third Wheel and online at www.purplepass.com or trapt.com/tour. Cost at the door is $18.
Trapt was formed in Los Gatos, Calif., in 1995.
March 10
SPALDING — John Fisher of Arrow Junction, a Lewis and Clark historian, will give a presentation about the Corps of Discovery at 1 p.m. March 10 at the Nez Perce National Historical Park visitor center here.
Fisher, a retired Lewiston High School science teacher, will give a PowerPoint presentation titled “Around the World with Medals, Money, and Furs: Before, During and After Lewis and Clark.” His presentation is the result of a year’s research into this aspect of the Corps of Discovery, according to a news release, and some of the rarest medals in U.S. history will be on display and discussed.
The Spalding visitor center is east of Lewiston along U.S. Highway 95.
March 10
Students from two dance studios in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley will take to the stage March 10.
At 2 p.m., students from Footnotes Dance Studio will present “The Little Mermaid: A Story in Dance” in the Clarkston High School auditorium. Cost is $5 regular price and free for ages 2 and younger.
At 7 p.m., students from Main Street Dance Studio will present their 12th annual Irish Celebration in the Silverthorne Theater at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
The program will feature dance (Irish, tap, ballet, jazz), vocals and a performance by the Clearwater Pipes & Drums. Cost is $10 regular price, and $5 for ages 3 to 8.
March 12
LEWISTON — Earl Bennett of Genesee will give a program titled “On the Road With John Silcott: The Story of the Uniontown Road” at 2 p.m. March 12 in the activity room of the Royal Plaza Retirement Center here.
Bennett is former dean of the College of Mines and Earth Resources and the College of Science at the University of Idaho in Moscow, and is the Genesee city historian. He is a member of both the Nez Perce and Latah county historical societies, and is a board member of the Idaho State Historical Society.
