May 24
An event to raise money to create a memorial pathway on the Pullman campus of Washington State University will be from 6 to 9 p.m. May 24 at Etsi Bravo in Pullman.
The land has been set aside at WSU for the Kelly Ward Memorial Pathway, according to a news release, but money is needed to complete the project. Ward was vice provost for faculty recognition and development at WSU, and she died last summer following an accident.
The benefit is open to those 21 and older, and will include a silent auction, drawings, dancing and a no-host bar. Food will be provided by Black Cypress in Pullman. Etsi Bravo is at 215 E. Main St.

A Fulbright Scholar from Morocco will give an hourlong talk beginning at 4:30 p.m. May 24 at Neill Public Library in Pullman.
Mohammed Boudoudou, currently in residence at the Community Colleges of Spokane, will give a talk titled “The ‘Arab World:’ Historical and Cultural Perspectives.” Boudoudou is a visiting scholar at the Global Education Office of CCS and has made several appearances around the region. His research has focused on world population mobility and its effects on the social structure of society, according to a news release.
Boudoudou has taught for more than 30 years, including five years at the Tohoku University Graduate School of International Cultural Studies in Japan.

Kendrick’s 59th annual Locust Blossom Festival kicks off with a fun run beginning at 8 a.m. May 25 in Juliaetta Park.
A cavalcade of events will follow throughout the day in Kendrick including a parade at 10 a.m. in downtown Kendrick.
A barbecue lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. in the Kendrick Fire Hall, and live music by Beargrass will be played from noon to 3 p.m. in Kendrick Park.

Stand-up comedian Dwight Slade will take the stage May 26 at Zone 208 in downtown Lewiston.
Opening for Slade are comedians Alex Avery and Nathan Hart, with the show set to start at 8 p.m.
Slade is winner of the Boston Comedy Festival and Seattle International Comedy Competition and has made appearances on Comedy Central, “The Tonight Show” and HBO’s “Best Of The U.S. Comedy Arts Festival.”

Picnic? Maybe. Baseball? Perhaps. Sitting through six “bad” movies over the course of 13 hours in “amazingly bad” chairs? That’s right: You can spend all of Memorial Day watching bad movies.
May 27, the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre in Moscow is launching a Bad Movie Marathon as a way to raise money to replace the current blue chairs in the center’s auditorium. Beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing through 10 p.m., the center will screen “some of the worst movies ever to see the light of day,” according to www.kenworthy.org.
The doors will open at 8:30 a.m. and admission is by donation, with all proceeds going to benefit the Kenworthy Capital Campaign. The movie titles won’t be revealed ahead of time.
The center is at 508 S. Main St.
