Oct. 25
Pipes and Brass is the title of a Faculty Artist Series concert given by En Chamade and Equinox beginning at 8 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Bryan Hall Theatre on the Pullman campus of Washington State University.
The two WSU faculty ensembles will perform brass and pipe organ music. En Chamade, the trumpet and organ duo of David Turnbull and Jill Schneider, will take the stage for the first half of the program.
Equinox, the brass quintet made up of David Turnbull, Noah Austin, Martin King, Sarah Miller and Christopher Dickey, will perform for the second half.
The pipes of the Bryan Hall Theater organ will be featured on the program as will those of the renowned bagpiper Kirk McMichael who will perform in Highland dress.
Proceeds from ticket sales in the series benefit the School of Music Scholarship Fund. Admission is $10 regular price, $5 for seniors ages 55 and older and nonWSU students, and free for WSU students with ID.
Oct. 25-28
Convergence, the annual fall performance staged by the University of Idaho Dance Program, opens at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 in the Hartung Theater on the Moscow campus.
The program also will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 26-27, as well as 2 p.m. Oct. 28. A question-and-answer session with the choreographers and dancers will follow the Sunday performance.
This falls show includes choreography from Belle Baggs, Melanie Meenan and Rachel Dodson, all College of Education, Health and Human Sciences Dance faculty members, as well as choreography from the guest company DanceBarn, co-directed by Molly Johnston and Ayumi Shafer, artists based in Minnesota. Through auditions, 16 UI students were selected to perform.

Oct. 26-27
The annual Fall Arts and Crafts Fair is Oct. 26-27 on the concourse of Beasley Coliseum on the Pullman campus of Washington State University.
Fair hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 26 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 27.
In addition to a variety of vendors, children can attend in costume for trick-or-treating through the event.
Oct. 28-29
Conrad Birdie and his adoring fans, along with a variety of other roles, will be cast in auditions Oct. 28-29 for the musical Bye Bye Birdie, to be staged by the Lewiston Civic Theatre. Auditions will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Oct. 28 and 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 29 at the theater box office in downtown Lewiston, 832 Main St.
The 1961 Broadway musicals book is by Michael Stewart, lyrics by Lee Adams and music by Charles Strouse. It was inspired by the induction of Elvis Presley into the U.S. Army in 1957.
The production will be directed by Fred Scheibe of Lewiston, the theaters longtime artistic director before his retirement in 1999, and it will be staged beginning in mid-January in the Lewiston High School auditorium. Auditioners should be prepared to sing 16-32 bars of music, do a cold reading and dance, according to a news release.
Oct. 31
Free The Jester, a Spokane-based party punk band from Spokane, will headline a Halloween show beginning at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at Johns Alley in Moscow.

The bands debut album, Thanks4Partyn, was released in 2014. Members are Cameron Scott Moore, vocals and guitar; Willie Woo Styx, bass and vocals; Matt Johnston, guitar and vocals; Zach Vaudreuil, drums; and Lane Flynn, guitar, keyboard, bass and vocals.
State Of Krisis also will play.
