Earn tickets for volunteering at UI's Jazz Fest

The University of Idaho’s Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival is seeking hundreds of volunteers for this year’s festival to take place Feb. 23-24 on campus.

Volunteers have the chance to earn one evening concert ticket for every four hours of service, including training and orientation meetings. Tasks include greeting guests, driving artists and educators around town, and managing competition sites.

The festival headliner is Grammy-nominee Joey DeFrancesco + the People, performing Saturday night. Friday’s concert features alto saxophonist Antonio Hart, trumpeter Terell Safford and vocalist Brianna Thomas. Area bands and choirs also will perform each night.

Volunteer registration is open to community members, students, faculty and staff. A description of specific volunteer opportunities can be found online at www.uidaho.edu/jazzfest/get-involved.

People can sign up by contacting Cari Exarhos at (208) 885-5900 or jazzvolunteer@uidaho.edu.
