Holiday happenings continue this week, with several Santa sightings in the forecast:
MOSCOW
Join Santa and Mrs. Claus for breakfast and fun at Breakfast with Santa during two separate seatings at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the 1912 Center. Santa will read a book to guests and visit with them during breakfast. Children will receive a gift from Santa and have opportunity color pictures, write Santa a letter and sit on his lap. The cost is $5 person or $20 family; pre-registration is required by calling Moscow Parks and Recreation at (208) 883-7085. The center is at 412 E. Third St., Moscow.
Enjoy Caroling at Friendship Square 2 p.m. Sunday in downtown Moscow. Cookies and hot chocolate will follow.
An After School Holiday Crafternoon is 3 to 4 p.m. today and Friday at the Moscow Public Library. Upper-elementary and middle-school youth are invited to make “gifty” crafts and will have use of a gift-wrapping station. Families with young children are invited to attend Winter Storytime 11 a.m. Saturday at the library. The event will be a celebration of winter holidays with snowy stories, holiday songs and other activities. The library is at 110 S. Jefferson St.
LEWISTON-CLARKSTON VALLEY
Bring your camera for Family Storytime with Santa 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Lewiston City Library. The free event includes stories, music and crafts. The library is at 411 D St.
The Annual Holiday Bazaar is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Clearwater River Casino event center at 17500 Nez Perce Road outside Lewiston.
A Day with Santa will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Clarkston Heights Grange. There will be games, crafts, cookies, hot chocolate and free photos, along with a train display by the Lewis-Clark Train club. There is no charge. The grange is at 2220 Reservoir Rd.
The Lewiston Civic Theatre will hold a Holiday Open House at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the theater offices. People are invited to bring food for a covered-dish dinner to celebrate the holiday season and find out about plans for the upcoming year. The office is at 832 Main St., Lewiston.
The Interlink Christmas Concert will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Clarkston High School auditorium. The annual fundraising event will feature performances by Chad Bramlet, Amy Baker-Stout, Nancy McIntosh, Becci Tank, Kelly Riddle, Shania, Clearwater Pipes and Drums, Jeanene Sander, Frances Hasenoehrl, Patricia Brinegar, the Dave Marran Family Singers, Isaiah Trembley and Elle Uhling. The cost is $10 at the door. The auditorium is at 401 Chestnut St., Clarkston.
THE SURROUNDS
A Winter Blessing is tonight at the Coeur d’Alene Casino in Worley. Winter is a quiet season for members of the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, a time for reflection and storytelling. The evening will include theatrical storytelling, a canoe revitalization ceremony, a traditional “Prairie Chicken” dance contest and complimentary fry bread and huckleberry jam. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the event will begin at 6. Attendance is free.
The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance is holding a Community Christmas Concert 4 p.m. Sunday at the Josephy Center for Arts and Culture in Joseph, Ore. Performers include Janis Carper, Harmony Rising, Heidi Muller and Bob Webb and others. Holiday treats will be served. Suggested donation is $10. The center is located at 403 N. Main St.
The colorful Festival of Trees and Art continues this week at The Center at Colfax Library, where decorated trees serve as a backdrop for artwork and photography. A Night At the Movies-themed holiday tree is being raffled at to help fund a new roof at The Center; tickets are $1. Art and photography will be available for purchase. Artists include Vickie Broeckel, Ken Carper, Greg Kessler, Bob Krikac, Nancy Rothwell, Rob Smith, Henry Stinson and Carrie Vielle. A community reception and open house will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the winners of the tree decorating contest and raffles announced at 7 p.m. Viewing hours are Mondays through Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays, 1 to 5 p.m. The library is at 102 S. Main St., Colfax.
