With thousands of dogwood trees blooming like cotton candy April ushers in the monthlong Dogwood Festival in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. Theres something for everyone, from dog lovers to drinkers and art aficionados to runners.
22nd Annual Confluence Grape & Grain
A popular annual fundraiser for the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History this years wine and beer tasting event is 6-9 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the center and is open to ages 21 and older. Tickets are $25 at the center, Southway Owl Pharmacy in Lewiston; and Basalt Cellars and Riverport Brewing Company in Clarkston.
Refresh the Valley
The annual clean-up project from 8-10 a.m. Saturday, April 14 is part of this years Dogwood events. Volunteers will meet at Brackenbury Square in downtown Lewiston. The first 10 people will get a free Dogwood Festival T-shirt. Clean up will end with a party at the square.
Lewiston All-Breed Dog Show
Dog fanciers and fancy dogs will unite April 20-21 at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds for the Lewiston All-Breed Dog Show. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Parking is $5. The event is sponsored by the Lewis Clark Kennel Club, (208) 798-9578.
Dogwood Dunk
This 3-on-3 basketball tourney is for kids in fifth grade to adults. Registration is $65 through Monday, April 16. Games start at 9 a.m. April 21 at the LCSC Activity Center parking lot. Games are sponsored by LCSC Athletics, (208) 792-2275.
35th Annual Seaport River Run
Runners and walkers will race and stroll along the Snake River April 28 in the 35th annual Seaport River Run. The 2.9 mile or 6.2 mile (10k) journey from Swallows Park to Hells Gate State Park starts at 10 a.m. Cost is $16 with T-shirt, $6 without. Proceeds benefit local charities. Registration is at Lewiston Parks and Recreation.
28th Annual Art Under the Elms
April 27-29 is the three-day artisan fair with more artisans than ever before selling art, jewelry, furniture, food, decor and more on the lawns of LCSC. There will also be games for families, live entertainment and food vendors. Word is deep-fried brownies will be for sale.
Admission is $3 for a three-day pass. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. April 27, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. April 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29.
Dogwood Show and Shine
Classic and contemporary cars and trucks will be on show at the southeast edge of the LCSC campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 28. Free admission.
27th Annual Seaport Quilt Guild Show
Hundreds of quilts and quilted items by area quilters will be on display at the Clarkston High School Gym April 28-29. Vendors will be selling quilting-related items. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 29. Admission is $4.
Dogwood Concert - Scot Bruce as Elvis
Scot Bruce, Moscow native and legendary Elvis performer, will bring his Elvis-in-his-prime act to the stage at 7 p.m. April 28 at the LCSC Activity Center. Advance tickets are $20 for adults, or $15 for children 12 and under and seniors 65 and over.
