League of Women Voters presentation focuses on child abuse prevention

Moscow’s League of Women Voters will recognize National Child Abuse Prevention Month with a free presentation Wednesday, April 5, via Zoom.

“Child Abuse Prevention — Looking Upstream,” will stream at noon at bit.ly/LWVMspeakers, with meeting login ID 835 0394 1866 and passcode 432184.

Speakers include Roger Sherman, executive director of the Idaho Children's Trust Fund, the state affiliate of Prevent Child Abuse America, and members of the League of Women Voters of Idaho Building Resilience Using ACEs Interventions Committee, or BRACEs, according to a League news release.

Sherman will address efforts in Idaho to prevent child abuse by focusing on strengthening families; Idaho state League members will provide an update on their work to increase awareness about adverse childhood experiences, referred to as ACEs, which include child abuse and neglect.

Register information will be provided for a series of free ACES workshops.
