Gifts of local and regional food and drink are popular during the holidays. With that in mind the Moscow Food Co-op is hosting Tasteful Thursdays, where people can sample regional fare for free. Live music will be paired with food and drink during the event, which features tastes of wine, beer, cheese and other appetizers from 5-7 p.m. through Dec. 20, except Nov. 22.
Beer being served includes products from Paradise Creek Brewery in Pullman and Wallace Brewing in Wallace, Idaho. Among the wineries are Colters Creek Vineyard and Winery of Juliaetta and Clearwater Canyon Cellars of Lewiston. Hard cider from the Blue Mountain Cider Company of Milton-Freewater, Ore., will also be available for tasting.
Local and regional cheese is a growing department at the Co-op, which stocks nearly 200 different kinds, including award-winning farmstead and artisan brands from around the Pacific Northwest. Local makers represented at the store include Brush Creek Creamery of Deary and Little Bear Dairy in Troy.
The store is at 121 E. Fifth St.
