Motograter's Casey Cahill plays the motograter machine.

The motograter is a mysterious percussion instrument constructed with a horned skull, industrial cables cranks and gears. It produces a low, distorted sound and is a trademark of its creator, the nu-metal band Motograter. The band’s best known song is likely “Suffocate,” featured on the soundtrack of the 2003 remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.” It’s toured with Ozzy Osbourne, Marilyn Manson, Korn and many others. Motograter will bring its industrial music machine to Lewiston where it performs at 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 15 at the Third Wheel, 1634 Main St. Cost is $10 in advance or $15 at the door (www.3rdwheellewiston.com).
