Organizers for Clarkston's summer music festival, Rockin' on the River, have announced that P.O.D. will headline its July 30 outdoor concert.
A three-time Grammy nominated Christian metal band, the group formed in 1992 in San Diego, Calif., and is known for its hard rock/rap sound with a positive message. Its name is short for Payable on Death. Over two decades the band has released eight studio albums including the hits "Southtown," "Alive," "Youth of the Nation," "Lost in Forever" and "Boom." Their ninth album "The Awakening," came out last summer.
The concert will be 3 to 10 p.m. July 30 at Dave's Valley Golf Center in Clarkston. Thousand Foot Krutch will also perform, along with another band yet to be announced. Ticket sale information is not yet available.
