Polyphony Marimba

Progressive Zimbabwean-style marimba ensemble based out of Santa Fe, N.M., comprised of musicians from all over the U.S. who have played this unique style of music in their local communities. Directed by Peter Swing, the group plays both the traditional music of the Shona people of Zimbabwe, as well as contemporary works inspired by that tradition. Polyphony is excited to return to Moscow for the first time since playing the Zimbabwean Music Festival in 2012, which was hosted at UI that year.
