Having grown up in Lewiston, I would not have believed if someone told me I would one day witness a pod of pelicans chillin' on a sandbar off the Clarkston Greenbelt. But as I have learned, never say never! I captured this pod of approximately 60 on Cinco de Mayo Sunday 2024.

Image: I happened upon this discrete duck Saturday December 23rd while walking on the Snake River bike path. He was bobbing/weaving in the small pond just south of the blue interstate bridge. It was amazing to see him change the shape of his head (plume) as he moved about the pond!
Image: I happened upon this "reflective recluse" Saturday December 23rd while walking on the Snake River bike path. He was floating silently on the Snake River just North of Lewiston Grain Growers. Though he appears all black/white, his head was actually more purple, but did not show up as such in the pic. I love his perfect reflection & felt fortunate to catch that just before he took flight!
