F.W. Murnau’s last silent film reveals the full mesmerizing power of early narrative cinema before the transition to sound. Rated No. 10 in best films of all time according to Sight and Sound, 2022, Murnau’s gorgeous allegory of love, betrayal and redemption holds enormous power for modern audiences. This screening is presented in partnership with the Washington Idaho Symphony.
