Sound Downtown will offer live music at 6 p.m. Saturdays this summer in Lewiston.

Sound Downtown features musicians from the region and, new this year, beer and wine also from the region.

Now in its second year, Sound Downtown offers 12 weeks of free Saturday evening concerts that kick off July 12 and run through Sept. 27. Featuring a variety of regional bands, the concerts start at 6 p.m. at Brackenbury Square, an hour after the Lewiston Farmers Market opens.

Each week at Brackenbury Square, the Blue Lantern will be selling beer and wine produced in the region. Across D Street, in the market, concertgoers can purchase food from the Ice Dream Shoppe and Mariana’s Tamales, along with produce and crafted goods. Those wishing to listen to the music should bring a lawn chair or blanket.
