Marking the beginning of summer, the bright white syringa blossoms in the back yard. Offically know as Philadelphus lewisii or Lewis' Mockorange, this deciduous shrub is in the Hydrangea family (Hydrangeaceae) and is Idaho's State Flower. Photo by Karen Purtee from her yard east of Moscow.
