Once the taboo territory of sailors and sideshow acts, tattoos are now considered art and are commonplace but no two are exactly the same and they often carry a deeper meaning than whats on the surface. Behind every flower, bird, or psycho clown is a story. Maybe its a reminder for daily living or of a significant event, ending or new beginning.
For our May 26 edition, Inland 360 is planning 360 Ink, an issue devoted to the regions tattooed masses. We are collecting photos of tattoos -- the good, the bad and the ugly -- along with some interesting stories behind them. Many people are proud of their tattoos. Others are full of regret. Wed like to hear about yours.
If you have a story to share with readers, email your tale and a photo of you and your tattoo by May 17 to me at jkbauer@inland360.com. Please include your name, age, city, phone number and email address. We may choose to feature your story.
If youre just plain proud of your tat, or want to show people what not to do, go to inland360.com, click Share Your Snaps, select 360 Ink and upload your photo. We may include it in a gallery of our favorites.
Please keep in mind this is a family publication. If you have a tattoo in a very private location, lets keep it that way.
