UNIONTOWN — April’s exhibit at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn here will be works by 28 members of the Palouse Women Artists. The artists will attend an opening reception from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
The exhibit theme is “Power of Three” and will feature works in a variety of media, including watercolor, collage, encaustic, fiber, assemblage, oil, ceramic, glass and photography. All works will be for sale. The exhibit continues through April 26.
The barn is at 419 N. Park Way, and is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and has no daily admission fee.

PULLMAN — Dale Wasserman’s play, “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest,” will open in Washington State University’s Jones Theatre beginning at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
The play also will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Saturday and April 10 and 11, and 2 p.m. Saturday and April 11.
In the play, based on Ken Kesey’s novel, the roguish R.P. McMurphy contrives to serve a short sentence in an Oregon psychiatric institution instead of prison. He soon realizes his miscalculation, however, when he clashes with the fierce Nurse Ratched in an escalating contest of wills with life-altering consequences, according to a news release.
This production is presented by WSU Performing Arts with support from STAGE Student Theatre and the WSU School of Architecture and Design. It stars James Campbell as McMurphy and Clarice Cohn as Nurse Ratched. The play is directed by Benjamin Gonzales, assistant clinical professor in the College of Arts and Sciences at WSU.
The production contains strong language and mild adult themes. Reserved seating costs $10 for regular price, and $8 for seniors 60 and older, students and youth.

Wasserman’s stage play premiered on Broadway in 1963 and Milos Forman’s movie based on the novel was released in 1975.

LEWISTON — The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse annual Fun Ride will be held Saturday at Hells Gate State Park here.
Sign-up is from 10 a.m. to noon, and prizes and awards will be given at 2 p.m.
Cost to participate is $10 for adults, and $5 for ages 11 and younger.

PULLMAN — “William James and Emotion’s Literary History” is the title of a lecture by Gregory Eiselein at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Room 101 of Kimbrough Hall at Washington State University here.
Eiselein is professor of English at Kansas State University, Coffman University Distinguished Teaching Scholar, and director of Kansas State University’s first-year experience program. He is the editor or author of six books, including “Literature and Humanitarian Reform in the Civil War Era.”
Eiselein examines how literary understandings of the relationship between emotion and ethics changed during the 19th century, according to a news release.
The lecture is part of the WSU Department of English Visiting Scholars Series.
