JULIAETTA — Musician and Moscow native Charlie Sutton and his band will play beginning at 8 p.m. Friday at Colter’s Creek Winery here.
Sutton and his band, Curtis/Sutton & the Scavengers, have played this summer mostly around their home base of Boise, where they live. Members include Ryan Curtis, Sam Alkire (bass) and Chelsea Ray (backing vocals). Curtis and Sutton share time at lead vocals, and the sound varies from country-folk to rock.
Aug. 21 and 23
PULLMAN — “Ursa Major: Compass of the Night Sky” is the title of the next program at the Washington State University planetarium here Friday and Sunday.
The program will detail constellations and mythology in and around the constellation Ursa Major. It begins at 7 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday. The planetarium is in Room 231 of Sloan Hall.
Tickets at the door are $5 (cash or check only), and free for children ages 6 and younger.
The WSU Planetarium features a Spitz A3 star projector and a coexisting digital fulldome projection system. The dome is 24-feet in diameter and was installed in Sloan Hall in 1962, and the projector was upgraded in 1968. In 2014, a spheric mirror digital projection system was added.

LEWISTON — Hard rockers Theory of a Deadman will play a concert Saturday at Boomers’ Garden here. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 7.
Lullwater and Unconfined will open the show.
Theory of a Deadman hails from Delta, British Columbia, Canada, and formed in 2001. They are touring in support of their third album, “Scars & Souvenirs,” according to a news release.
The show is open to all ages, and cost is $25 in advance, and $30 the day of the show for festival seating. Deck general admission is $35 and deck seating is $40.

MOSCOW — The final free Plaza Concert of the summer featuring music by the Border Highlanders will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday outdoors at the 1912 Center here, 412 E. Third St.
The Border Highlanders includes musicians from around the region playing bagpipes and drums. The performance also will feature the Border Highlander Dancers.
Food will be available for purchase beginning at 5:30 p.m. from Grub Wandering Kitchen, and beer and wine also will be available for purchase. Concertgoers are welcome to bring their own food.
The concert will be on Pall Plaza, but in the event of rain, it will move inside the center.

CLARKSTON — “Mary Shelley’s ‘Frankenstein’: Anatomy of a Masterpiece” is the topic of a talk at 7 p.m. Tuesday by Lance Rhoades of Seattle at Basalt Cellars here, 906 Port Drive.
His multimedia presentation includes how Shelley addressed some of humankind’s greatest concerns with a creation that took on a life of its own. Attendees will be given the opportunity to explore and discuss these complicated and complex issues, according to a news release.
Rhoades is a scholar and program director for the Mercer Island (Wash.) Library and Arts Council. He has given talks on several continents about cultural history in film, and yearly he teaches a course in the humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
