MOSCOW — The Light Up The Night Holiday Parade will kick off Moscow’s holiday season, with a light display and visits from Santa Claus (shown above). The parade begins at 7 and is open to the public. Free forms to enter the parade can be filled out at the Hamilton Indoor Recreation Center. Parade check-in is in front of CJ’s Nightclub from 6-7 p.m. Those interested in participating in the parade are encouraged to decorate their entries with lights and a holiday theme. Prizes will be awarded for Best General, Best Youth and Best Use of Lights.

Wednesday, Dec. 4 MOSCOW — The University of Idaho Theatre Arts Department and the Idaho Repertory Theatre will perform “A Christmas Carol,” the classic tale by Charles Dickens. The production includes puppets and special effects. Tickets can be purchased at the door, online through the UI Ticket Office or by phone at (208) 885-7212. Tickets are $6 for children and $8 for adults. Admission is free for UI students with valid student identification. The show runs 7:30 p.m. Wednesday through Dec. 7 and again Dec. 11 through 14 in the Hartung Theater, 625 Stadium Dr., Moscow. A 2 p.m. production runs Dec. 8, 14 and 15.

Wednesday, Dec. 4 LEWISTON — Comedian and impressionist Melissa Villasenor will perform at the LCSC Williams Conference Center at 8 p.m. The show, sponsored by the Lewis-Clark State College Warrior Entertainment Board, is free too. Villasenor grew up in Los Angeles and started performing stand-up comedy at the age of 15 at the Laugh Factory Comedy Camp for Kids. Since then she has become a regular at the Comedy Store, the Improv Comedy Clubs, the Comedy & Magic Club, and even made it to the semifinals on America’s Got Talent in 2011. More recently she has played Nora Ephron in the animted TV show “Family Guy” as well as doing other voices for “Adventure “Time on the Cartoon Network.

Wednesday, Dec. 4 LEWISTON — “Alive & Well,” a documentary film that illuminates the courage and strength of people coming to terms with the reality of living with Huntington’s disease, will get a special screening at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Centre Cinemas in Lewiston. Tickets are $10 each and can be only be purchased online at gathr.us/screening/6431. This film, directed by Josh Taft of Seattle, follows seven people coming to terms with their chronic hereditary illness, a neurological disorder that leads to a systematic deterioration of their mental and physical abilities. Subjects of the film include a young women hoping to start a family; a mother taking care of her symptomatic 6-year-old son and ailing husband; the drummer of a major country music band; a former NBC News journalist turned advocate; and a renowned scientist relentlessly searching for a cure. All proceeds go to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America to support research for a cure. !
