CLARKSTON The first Alive After Five of the summer will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 2 on Sixth Street downtown here. The free outdoor street fair will feature live music by American Bonfire as well as a variety of vendors and childrens activities.

CULDESAC The 23rd annual Culdesac Citywide Yard Sale will be from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. here June 4.
Maps will be available at Culdesac City Hall, 100 Sixth St., or at 414 Main St.

CLARKSTON Steven Branting of Lewiston will give a talk and lead a discussion about the common traits of beloved books from 2 to 3 p.m. June 4 at And Books Too here, 918 Sixth St.
Deeply-Freighted Ships of Thought is the title of the forum. Branting is a historian and retired educator and author of several books about Lewistons history.

MOSCOW A work party aimed at maintaining trails and habitat at Idlers Rest Nature Preserve will begin at 9 a.m. June 4 here.
The Palouse Land Trust plans the work party and recommends attendees dress for the weather and bring work gloves. Tools, materials, beverages and a light lunch will be provided, according to a news release.
Organizers recommend carpooling, and will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Moscow Unitarian Universalist Church of the Palouse, 420 E. Second St. The preserve is at 1187 Idlers Rest Road here.

WHITMAN COUNTY Dave Dolezilek of Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories in Pullman will give a presentation on The Power of the Palouse beginning at 6:30 p.m. June 4 at the Kamiak Butte County Park Amphitheater between Pullman and Palouse.
The free presentation is part of the Whitman County Evening Campfire Program.
If the weather is bad, the program will move to the Larch Shelter at the park.
June 5
UNIONTOWN Annual Palouse Photography Exhibit, featuring photos of the Palouse taken in the past year, opens with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m. June 5 at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn here.
Regular hours for the exhibit are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, and it will continue through June 26.
The barn is at 419 N. Park Way.
