Jukebox productions are a summertime classic at the Lewiston Civic Theatre and this year’s version will be similar to a regular stage production. “Jukebox Goes to Broadway” opened Wednesday and continues through Sunday.

The show opens with a family getting ready to fly into New York City, said director Fred Scheibe. It is a review that includes a selection of songs from Broadway hits, including “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Bye Bye Birdie,” “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” “Sweeney Todd” and “Damn Yankees.” The songs are accompanied by a four-piece combo, directed by Sharon Warner.

Scheibe compared the show to a typical production, rather than a variety or talent show, and includes a “fine cast” of about 30 people.
