The carved bucket is a detail from the 2000 bronze and wood sculpture A World Beyond that stands on N.E. Stadium Way on the Washington State University campus in Pullman. Instead of a mule pulling a wagon, artist Brad Rude put the mule on top of a buckboard to express the notion that simply by changing ones perspective, a new world of ideas and images opens up, according to a placard at the site.
