Snoop Dogg will headline Washington State University’s Springfest according to the WSU Student Entertainment Board. Tickets for the rap concert go on sale 8 a.m. Feb. 4 at the Cougar Card Center and 10 a.m. the same day through TicketsWest.
Snoop Dogg, Snoop Lion, Snoopzilla or Calvin Cordozar Broadus, Jr., his actual name, has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, with multiple debuts at No. 1. Snoop Dogg released “Reincarnated” in 2013, and is planning to release a 2014 album, too.
Some of Snoop’s top hits include “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” "What’s My Name,” “Beautiful” and “Gin & Juice.”
Snoop Dogg has had a host of criminal convictions in the past 25 years, most always involving marijuana and firearm possessions. Just last night, TMZ reported smoke triggered a fire alarm in an Australian hotel, where firefighters who happened to be in the hotel rushed to investigate. When they got to the scene, the firefighters discovered there was no fire, but just smoke coming from Snoop Dogg’s room, though officials won’t say if marijuana was involved. Snoop later posted an Instagram picture with the responders and a caption reading "Fire dept Shut it down !!”
Snoop Dogg’s son, Cordell Broadus, a wide receiver star from Bishop Gorman high school, was offered a chance to play for more than 15 universities, including WSU. Snoop’s rap companion Nate Dogg has a son, too, who was offered a spot with WSU. Nate’s son, Naijiel Hale, was seen at a November game where WSU beat the Utes 37-49, but Hale committed to Arizona in the end.
Tickets for the Snoop Dogg concert are $24 for students with a CougarCard and $39 for public. The concert is a part of Springfest, a two-day event for students and the community, which includes live music, carnival rides, games and art displays.
