Talk focuses on history of hate groups in Idaho

A talk titled “A History of Hate: Hate Groups in Idaho,” is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, at the Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre, 508 S. Main St., Moscow.

The presentation, by Boise State University library archivist Alisha Graefe, will be followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.

Graefe received her master’s degree from Boise State University in 2018 with her thesis “American Hatred: Wild West Myths, Color-Coded Rhetoric, and the Shaping of the Aryan Nations,” according to information from the Latah County Historical Society.

She since has earned a master of library and information science degree from San Jose State University and works for BSU Special Collections and Archives and as the official archivist and podcast director for the Treefort Music Fest in Boise.

Her talk, presented by the historical society, Latah County Human Rights Task Force and Inland Oasis, is a part of the historical society’s Queer History Project and funded in part by a grant from the Idaho Humanities Council.
