A free presentation, “Finding Truth in a Sea of Misinformation,” anchors the University of Idaho’s annual Oppenheimer Ethics Symposium later this month on the Moscow campus.
Katie Sanders, of PolitiFact, will deliver the keynote talk at 4 p.m. March 27 in the Bruce M. Pitman Center Vandal Ballroom, 709 Deakin Ave., following a 3:30 p.m. reception in the center’s Chiefs Lounge.
PolitiFact, a project of the Poynter Institute for Media Studies, specializes in holding politicians accountable for their statements and debunking false information on social media, according to a UI news release.
Melissa Davlin, host and producer of Idaho Public Television’s “Idaho Reports,” will introduce Sanders and moderate a question-and-answer session following the talk.
The symposium, founded in 2011, is presented by the School of Journalism and Mass Media and supported by UI graduates Doug and Arthur “Skip” Oppenheimer, of Boise.
