This image was captured on September 20, 2020, at 7:29 am from the ridge on Kamiak Butte. It was great to see after the smoke had cleared. I always love the early morning light and the shadows help to show the rolling hills of the Palouse. Dave Ostrom of Pullman submitted this photo.

Image: Palouse Land Trust had a great day with volunteers spreading gravel on the Penstemon Path hiking/biking trail on Moscow Mountain. Shown is the great view with volunteers working on spreading gravel to tame the mud on the trail. This was taken on the morning of December 22nd.
Image: This image of a Western Trillium was captured at Idler's Rest Nature Preserve on April 15th, 2024. I love the beauty of the Trillium with 3 leaves, 3 sepals, and 3 petals and always look forward to seeing them bloom. There are many wildflowers in bloom at Idler's Rest and on the Penstemon Path which starts at Idler's Rest goes up Moscow Mountain.
Image: This image of a Male Rufous Hummingbird looks every bit like he is wearing a mask although the mask (actually gorget) is below his beak. It seems appropriate for this year of wearing masks and it is the most beautiful mask I've seen, This was taken back on May 26, 2010 by Dave Ostrom near Cranbrook, BC.
