2015 Palouse Women’s Expo “Girls Night Out” Tickets are available for the 2015 Palouse Women’s Expo’s “Girls Night Out,” which will be held from 5-7 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Best Western Plus University Inn, 1516 Pullman Road, Moscow. The event will feature comedians Kristin Key and Jen Seaman. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Lewiston Tribune, the Moscow-Pullman Daily News and Best Western Plus University Inn, or by calling (208) 882-0550. Key is best known for being on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” during season four. She has also been featured on “Comics Unleashed” and appears regularly on VH1’s “100 Greatest” series. Seaman was featured on Season 6 of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and can now be seen on Comedy Central’s “AtomTV” and FOX’s “Laughs.” She was recently named Seattle’s Best Comedian by Seattle Weekly. “Girl’s Night Out” will also feature finger foods and early VIP entry to all booths.
“Sylvia” Pullman Civic Theatre’s production of “Sylvia,” originally written by A.R. Gurney, will hit the stage at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at 122 N.W. Nye St., Pullman. There will also be showings Oct. 10-11 and Oct. 15-18. Tickets are $10 for matinee shows and $12 for evening shows. Tickets can be purchased at www.pullmancivictheatre.org. “Sylvia” follows the story of Greg and Kate’s move to Manhattan after 22 years of child-raising in the suburbs. Greg brings home a dog he found in the park, bearing only the name “Sylvia” on her name tag. The dog offers Greg an escape from the frustrations of his job and the unknowns of middle age.
“The Great Russian Nutcracker” Spokane’s Crescendo Community Choir will accompany the Moscow Ballet company during its production of “The Great Russian Nutcracker” at 7 p.m. Nov. 23 at the INB Performing Arts Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Blvd., Spokane. Tickets range from $28 to $175 and can be purchased at www.ticketswest.com. The choir is a youth choral program established to create opportunities for children to access a quality choral experience, regardless of personal circumstance. The ballet company has been performing for more than 20 years.
“The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” The Trans-Siberian Orchestra returns to Spokane for its 2015 Winter Tour with a production of “The Ghosts of Christmas Eve” at 8 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Spokane Arena, 720 W. Mallon Ave. Tickets range from $33.50-$65 and can be purchased at www.ticketswest.com. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the Mobius Children’s Museum in Spokane. “Ghosts” follows the journey of a young runaway who, on Christmas Eve, breaks into an abandoned vaudeville theater to seek shelter from the cold and experiences ghostly visions from the concert hall’s past. The orchestra has put on more than 1,600 shows for more than 11 million fans.
